The primary services provided by the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) include:
Proposal Services (Proposal Review and Submission)
- Review RFP/Solicitation to ensure compliance with sponsor requirements
- Liaison and service provider to internal and external stakeholders, including principal investigators, administrators, program officers, grants officials and colleagues
- Interprets research policies and university and sponsor requirements
- Proposal review, processing and submission to sponsor
Contract Services (Contract Review and Negotiations)
- Review and negotiate award contracts, terms and conditions
- Draft and negotiate contracts for funding
- Draft and negotiate non-financial agreements
- Liaison with general counsel’s office, sponsor’s contract officer, and other internal stakeholders
Subaward (Issuing Outgoing Subawards)
- Manages subaward application forms
- Conducts Risk Assessment
- Creates and issues outgoing subawards per the award/contract terms
- Negotiates subaward terms
Award Management
- Provide guidance to researchers and staff to ensure proper stewardship of research funding
- Facilitate post-award requests and approvals to/from sponsor for no cost extensions (NCE), budget modifications, modifications to the scope of work, changes to key personnel, decrease in PI effort and any changes that require prior approval by the sponsor
- Review Sponsored Programs Exemption requests for purchases on sponsored accounts to determine if an exemption to the state’s bid requirements is allowable
- Conduct initial compliance review of all awards and ensure that human subjects, animal use, environmental health & safety, biosafety, export control and conflict of interest compliance is in place
- Facilitate the submission of progress and final technical reports to the sponsor when the reports must be submitted by Florida Atlantic’s authorized official
Other
- Conduct information/training sessions and workshops for faculty and staff
